The Man From U.N.C.L.E

Rest In Peace David McCallum.  His acting and musical credits are impressive but we will always remember him as Illya Kuryakin whose cool demeanor, physical proficiency with any weapon, and passion for art, music and science – not to mention his wealth of blonde hair – made him an immediate favorite among female viewers, whose fan mail to the actor was the most ever received in the history of MGM, which produced the show.

Corpse Reviver #2 To Die For

Praise be to the few restaurants that retain the professionalism of yesteryear. El Gaucho in Seattle is one such establishment. The seasoned staff still don tuxedos. The service is excellent. The food is superb. The drinks are delightful.

We requested that Jay our bartender serve one of his favorites. Gin forward, Lillet, Cointreau, Absinthe and lemon juice. And that’s how we ended up with a Corpse Reviver #2.

It Hurts to laugh

We read that some surveys find older adults, those who are interested in cannabis, are more likely to seek pain relief than they are wanting to get high. Ah, the aches and pains of Baby Boomers. Well, whatever works. The boom in cannabis sales has certainly helped the aches and pains of state budgets where CBD lotions and potions are legalized.

Remember when we used to get high with friends and laugh and laugh? We don’t either.

Remember

Baby Boomers represent the 76 million people born between 1946 and 1964. The United States began to draft Baby Boomers into the Vietnam War in the late ’60s. The New York Times reports that 40% of males in the Baby Boomer generation served in the war. It’s estimated that 47,434 American fighters were killed during Vietnam.

Approximately twenty-one percent of male Baby Boomers alive today  are veterans.

We remember those today who made the ultimate sacrifice and thank the many Baby Boomer veterans for their service and sacrifice.
